Keyboardist Claudio Corona releases single ‘Burn The House Down’
London-based Italian keyboardist and producer Claudio Corona releases new single “Burn The House Down” on acclaimed label Vintage League Music, featuring Grammy-nominated American drummer Adam Deitch.
“Burn The House Down” is the first single lifted from Corona’s upcoming full album Imagination Unlimited that will be released in May 2024. The single is entirely written, arranged and mixed by Claudio Corona in his Retrofonica studio. Drums were recorded at Color Red Studios in Colorado while Adam Deitch was touring with his band Lettuce.
“Burn The House Down” is a powerful funk groove where heavily infused Hammond riffs meet Adam’s superb drumming. It starts with a classic gospel-blues intro and continues with an infectious 70s funk groove with a modern sensibility.
Claudio’s left-hand bass and Adam Deitch’s drums are a relentless funky force. The stunning performance by Adam culminates with powerful fills during Claudio’s distinctive Hammond Organ solo that conjures thoughts of Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord.
All is gelled together with Wurlitzer electric piano, synth bass and subtle elements of modern sound design reminiscent of the jazz-funk trio Martin, Medeski and Wood.
The tune consists of Claudio Corona on Hammond organ, synth bass, Wurlitzer piano and sound design; Adam Deitch on drums and Kay Elizabeth on tambourine. The single was mastered by Alan Evans and produced by Claudio Corona.
