Bella Brown & The Jealous Lovers drop titletrack to new album
Coming off the sold-out success of Bella Brown & The Jealous Lovers’ 7” vinyl release “What Will You Leave Behind” / “Bang Bang Bang” on LRK Records is proud to announce the digital release of “Soul Clap”, the unit’s new single and precursor to the forthcoming LP of the same name.
Bella Brown & The Jealous Lovers are a Los Angeles-based unit, transplanted from Chicago, that specializes in 60s/70s soul and funk. The band is fronted by the dynamically charismatic, and Grammy Award-winning, Bella Brown. A fiery female lead singer who is a mixture of Tina Turner and Sharon Jones, with a persona that is reminiscent of the empowered female leads of 70s Blaxploitation films. Backed by the musicianship of The Jealous Lovers they form a unit that expertly expresses a uniquely modern interpretation of the traditional soul and funk genres in completely live musical performances. Their new single “Soul Clap” exemplifies this ideal. The track is a Bohannon-style dance stomper tinged with a helping of James Brown funk. “Soul Clap” is a celebration of the communal cultural tradition for which it is named. A tradition where the musicians and audience become a singular joyous expression of humanity. This radio-edited version is a 3 minutes and 54 seconds party of infectious dance grooves, expressive improvisations, and high-energy vocals.
“Soul Clap” is the titletrack of the unit’s upcoming album which will feature an extended version of the single as well as new and extended versions of “What Will You Leave Behind”, “Bang Bang Bang”, and 6 new tracks.
“Soul Clap” out Digitally on November 17th via LRK Records
