First single ‘Rebirth 重生’ from TC.KYLIE x The Hourglass’ debut EP
“Rebirth 重生” is the first single from RE:birthよみがえ, the debut EP by TC.KYLIE x The Hourglass scheduled to be released on vinyl and digitally on March 20th 2025.
Inspired by the adventurous spirit of the film “Life of Pi”, for this single TC.KYLIE delves into her inner child, embracing challenges with the curiosity and courage of a teenager embarking on her first sea voyage to an uncharted island.
“Rebirth 重生” connects the Hong Kong community in the United Kingdom, delivering a message of bravery and resilience in the face of uncertainty. For the music, drawing parallels to Chick Corea’s iconic track “Spain”, TC.KYLIE incorporates odd time signatures in the chorus, using repetitive phrases to reflect life’s adversities. The second half of the song transitions into a post-rock style, reminiscent of Japanese bands like Toe, employing emotive melodies to evoke and release deep-seated feelings, offering a sense of cathartic relief.
