Funkool Orchestra close off upcoming Golden Rules compilation
The last single lifted from Golden Rules’ upcoming compilation The Originals 2, due out on October 7th on LP, Cassette and Digital download, is a party tune by newcomer Italian band Funkool Orchestra. “Boogie With Your Baby” is a cover of a very rare and hard-to-find boogie jam from 1976, here reinterpreted for modern ears.
Funkool Orchestra’s previous releases on Funk Night Records sold out immediately, proving their powerful dancefloor boogie-funk is highly contagious (and recommended by Kenny Dope and Skeme Richards). Formed in 2019 as an extension of the Naples-based Funkool vinyl show, the band’s aim is to revive the engaging live atmospheres of disco clubs in the 70s, in which formations of many elements, dragged by horns, choirs and percussion, crossing and exploring musical genres through improvisation, without using samples and almost always recording live. The live performance of Funkool Orchestra is a journey between funk and disco sounds built as a tribute to our favorite DJs, selectors and diggers who continue to make us discover new music from the immense mine of productions of the 70s and 80s.
