Izo FitzRoy releases new single ‘Red Line’ from upcoming album
Vocal powerhouse Izo FitzRoy has one of the most recognisable voices in the modern soul scene today. Her gospel infused performances and direct song writing have won her high profile across the BBC, FIP, KCRW, CLASH magazine and Indie Shuffle to name a few.
Forthcoming album “How The Mighty Fall”, sees her team up with Mercury Prize-nominated producer – Colin Elliott, whose enviable credits include Richard Hawley, Jarvis Cocker, and Paul Weller amongst others. Backing her up alongside her own band are the sizable talents of both The Haggis Horns and The Soul Sanctuary Gospel Choir (with whom Izo has sung with since her teens).
The latest single to be taken from that record is a product of all their efforts – “Red Line” is written in full power soul stomp mode as she lyricizes about the fragility of a relationship and the desire to change.
The horn and choir arrangements perfectly complement and level up her huge vocal delivery as they collectively get things jumping with a driving groove.
If you like the sound of that then make sure you get your ears on the album when it comes for this and more aural delights including collaborations with the one and only Dimitri From Paris (Glitterbox, BBE) and the silver fox himself Shawn Lee (BBE, Ubiquity Records).
“Red Line” out via Digital download on February 28th on Jalapeño Records
