MT Jones releases second single ‘Tough Love’ from his upcoming EP
“Tough Love” is the second offering from MT Jones’ debut self titled EP which features 3 other tracks showcasing his world class songwriting ability and distinctive vocal prowess in a refreshing and highly memorable package.
MT Jones gathers inspiration from 60s and 70s soul greats, modern R&B and jazz, evoking a sound that is both contemporary and timeless. His deeply soulful & distinctive vocals transport you straight back to a smoke-filled speak easy, whilst bringing a sound that feels fresh and innovative.
“Tough Love” was written alongside long-time collaborator Callum Cowie and is a heartfelt exploration of the realisation that someone doesn’t feel the same way about you as you do about them. The single follows Jones’ March “All I Do”, a longing apology recounting the feelings of regret which arise when a love is lost.
“Tough Love is about a door closing on you, when you weren’t expecting it to, and the turmoil which comes with that” states MT Jones
