New single ‘Hasty Train’ from German global groove outfit OLUMA
9-piece global groove outfit from Leipzig OLUMA continues to whet appetites for their upcoming debut album Cooking Time dropping on April 5th 2024 on One World Records, with the 4th and final single extracted from the full-length: “Hasty Train”, an uptempo afro-Hammond groove that travels faster than a locomotive!
Imagine you’re on a train with 4 brass players who are late for their concert and still have to tune up and play in. Luckily, they make it on time and really turn up the heat at the show! “Hasty Train” might be the soundtrack to that scene, with its energetic afrobeat rhythm spiced up with a scorching Hammond organ solo and a hasty groove that complements the fat horn section well.
OLUMA was founded by Gregor Nicolai and André van der Heide, who share a common passion for danceable music. Afrobeat, jazz, funk and Brazilian influences flow together and form their musical environment. Carried by the rhythm section, the four wind players create a versatile sound, often virtuoso snappy lines, sometimes floating and free. Driving rhythms unfold and make you move – it’s all about the experience with each other.
