New video and single ‘Just Being Me’ from Myles Sanko’s new album
Self-made soul prodigy Myles Sanko has just launched the video to first single “Just Being Me” from his forthcoming album of the same title out on limited edition LP, CD and digital on October 28th via Légère Recordings.
Following acclaimed albums “Forever Dreaming” (2014) and “Born In Black & White” (2013), London-based musician, composer, producer, artist and cinematographer Myles Sanko explores new territories: “I’ve gone for a classic Jazz production but kept it soulful and seriously groovy. I wanted to capture my musical journey from my youthful hip-hop beginnings through to my re-discovery of soul and now jazz. I have tried to reflect my current times (world) whilst taking my fans to a new and exciting place”.
Myles Sanko’s sound takes inspiration from soul legends such as Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, Donny Hathaway and Gil Scott-Heron. The lyrics meanwhile explore topics of love, hope and politics, delivered with a 21st Century perspective. Finding a middle ground between the jazzy sophistication of Gregory Porter with whom he toured with in late 2014, and the folksy rawness of Michael Kiwanuka, Myles’ sound appeals to all breeds of soul fans.
