New videoclip ‘Cortando Bajito’ by Spanish musician Gecko Turner
Spanish musician and singer-songwriter Gecko Turner recently celebrated 15 years since his first release with compilation “Soniquete: The Sensational Sound of Gecko Turner“, out on CD/Digital and comprised of 13 of his biggest hits plus 1 brand new track “Cortando Bajito”. Uptempo and super funky, “Cortando Bajito” has just been released on vinyl via a tasty 7″ accompanied by a brand new videoclip directed by Joaquín Aneri.
Shot with a vintage 80s feel, the video features skaters, bmx riders, b-boys and the girls of the Wabi Sabi dance academy, as well as Gecko of course. The retro aesthetic reflects the do-it-yourself approach of the current times and was accomplished with digital recording, digital post-production and video samplers.
“Cortando Bajito” first appeared on compilation “Soniquete”, and is now aldo available on vinyl 45, backed by a remix by US afrofunk band Jungle Fire. In addition to these releases, Spanish label Lovemonk also pressed Gecko Turner‘s first 2 albums “Guapapasea!” from 2003 and “Chandalismo Ilustrado” from 2006 on wax for the first time.
