Third single ‘Stories’ from upcoming new album by Crowd Company
“Stories” is the third single extracted from the forthcoming new album by UK based funk & soul band Crowd Company, following up on the success of “Express 76” and album titletrack “Lowdown“. The new full-length was co-produced by Alan Evans (Soulive, Ae3) and recorded at his studio Iron Wax, and features Ryan Zoidis and Eric Bloom from US grammy-nominated band Lettuce on sax and trumpet on all tracks.
“Stories” has an evocative 70s vibe with wah wah guitar, crisp horns and incisive keys. Add to the mix the soulful vocals of singer Esther Dee for a retro-flavored sister funk workout that is guaranteed to get your head nodding to the beat.
Third studio album “Lowdown” sees Crowd Company take things to a new level – with rich song-writing combined with catchy hooks, inventive vocal performances and tight grooves. Band leader Rob Fleming says: “We had an amazing time recording the album, heading over the pond to the studio of Alan Evans and recording in a really organic, natural environment. We then got together with Eric and Ryan from Lettuce to add the horns to this tune and the rest of the album. We are so proud of the album and can’t wait to get it out there. We will be busy touring the album next year and hope to get over to the USA later in the year to play some shows” said Rob Fleming from the band.
