‘Don’t Want This To Be Over’ by Kraak & Smaak featuring Satchmode
Heavy on the yacht rock and funky pop influences, Kraak & Smaak are bringing the sunny poolside vibes with their latest single “Don’t Want This to Be Over feat. Satchmode”’, released via their very own Boogie Angst imprint. This new tune is a hearty blend of skilled musicianship combined with a savvy pop mentality reminiscent of Hall & Oates at their peak. Lending a hand (or more specifically a killer vocal) to this mid- tempo, catchy dancefloor number is dream pop act – Satchmode.
The sound of both this single and the new album carries a strong West Coast vibe and that’s no happy accident or mere emulation… Many of the featured artists on the album (including Satchmode) are LA residents and the album recording process saw Kraak & Smaak staying in the Echo Park area hitting local studios to get the tracks down.
And it worked a charm as they’ve produced an absolute diamond of a track. Front man Gabe Donnay delivers dreamy vocals and a killer chorus about the thrills of love and not wanting to let the good feelings disappear. Meanwhile Kraak & Smaak produce a mellow funk groove with a plethora of vintage keys sounds, tasteful funk bass, and a drum sound that’s tighter than a pair of skinny jeans around one size too small.
A perfect accompaniment to that leisurely afternoon sail in your yacht as you wait with a cold brew in hand for the onboard barbeque to get going!
