New single ‘Fade Away’ from Smoove & Turrell’s upcoming new album
“Fade Away” is an addictive concoction of spacey electronic jazz funk from the hardest working Geordie’s outside of Ant and Dec…Yes it’s those loveable scamps Smoove & Turrell.
Taken from their forthcoming album “Stratos Bleu” the track features liberal doses of eerie sound design and electronic flourishes from their ever-present keys man – Mike Porter’s synth collection, next to tasteful guitar elements, an energetic bass line, and infectious grooving beats.
Front man – John Turrell’s vocal tones are as soulful and sweet and as they’ve ever been, hitting you right in the feels with the ghostly chorus refrain proving to be as memorable as any they’ve written. But whilst it bears a lot of the hallmarks of classic Smoove & Turrell material it’s definitely evidence of their sound evolving further into uncharted waters, with considerably more electronic dance based influences, and the full talents of their band getting in on the writing process.
It’s yet another cracker from these guys and an exciting taste of more to come the album so don’t delay and get your ears around it!
“Fade Away” out via Digital download on April 10th via Jalapeno Records
