The 7 Day Weekend drop new single ‘High’ featuring Sonya Rae Taylor
Electrorganic music duo The 7 Day Weekend is thrilled to unveil new single “High” featuring the extraordinary talents of Sonya Rae Taylor. This captivating track marks the third release from their highly anticipated album Dream Fantastic set to be released under the esteemed label imprint, High Wire Records, a division of Vintage League Music.
The 7 Day Weekend draws inspiration from the timeless sounds and compositions of 60s and 70s film composers, blending it seamlessly with their own unique songwriting and production aesthetic. Comprising of Alan Evans (Soulive / Alan Evans Trio) and Kris Yunker (Alan Evans Trio), the duo has continuously evolved as both songwriters and musicians. Their previous release, “Show and Tell” offers a glimpse into their musical growth and serves as a perfect introduction to their forthcoming album.
Joining forces with The 7 Day Weekend on this exciting project is Boston native, Sonya Rae Taylor, a rising star known for her extraordinary blend of blues-rock and soul. Taylor‘s remarkable musical ability shines through her soaring vocals, scorching guitar work, and savvy song-craft, earning her comparisons to icons such as Warren Haynes, Bonnie Raitt, and Amy Winehouse.
“High” was expertly recorded at Alan Evans‘ renowned Iron Wax Studios in Erving, MA, with Kris Yunker and Evans co-producing the single. Alan Evans also handled the recording, mixing, and mastering of the track, ensuring the highest quality for listeners.
