TheEEs drop cinematic soul single ‘Slight & Small feat. Maike Jacobs’
Hot on the heels of first single “Con Sentimiento” that saw them collaborate with Cuban singer Arema Arega and Cuban musician Regis Molina on flute and congas, TheEEs, aka André Neundorf & Claus Hartisch, long-standing collaborators of Bahama Soul Club and Kojato, deliver brand new tune “Slight & Small”, that sees the participation of German singer and actress Maike Jacobs.
Based on the poem “I was the slightest in the house” by American lyricist Emily Dickinson, this ingratiating track takes us into a sonic world between cinematic soul and pop, spiced with a pinch of jazzy mysticism reminiscent of the aesthetics of David Lynch.
TheEEs made their debut with a smooth reggae remix of Bahama Soul Club’s hit single “Mango” in 2020, this was to be the beginning of a journey with many musical companions through different styles ranging from soul to latin, reggae, psych, acid jazz and trip hop to cinematic sounds as well as spoken word and hip hop interludes.
Stay tuned for more sounds coming from this exciting new outfit and their upcoming debut album!
